Event Information

  • What is Foam Glow™?

    Foam Glow 5K™ is a fun filled experience exposing runners to Glowing Foam and a ton of Blacklight’s all over the course. Glowing runners come from all different ages, shapes, sizes, and speeds. Whether you are a long term runner or a walk around the park stroller, the up to 5k Foam Glow 5K™ course will have you shining bright and waiting for the next run.

  • What is included with my registration?

    Runners will receive a custom commemorative Foam Glow™ race shirt, Foam Glow Race bib number, a Foam Glow Tattoo, and entrance to the Foam Glow 5k After Party.

  • Is Foam Glow™ timed?

    The Foam Glow™ 5k is not a timed event. Runners tend to take their sweet time, to ensure they get every morsel of the UV Foam on themselves, and we realized no one really cares about their speed. We suggest self-timing for anyone desiring a finish time.

  • What do I do with my stuff?

    Except in some cities there are no storage facilities available during the race. It is probably best to carry a small drawstring bag with you or leave your valuables in your Car.

  • Do I need to be a good runner to do this?

    Nope. There are plenty of more serious 5ks out there to test your speed and performance. Foam Glow 5k™ is all about a Glow crazy night with friends and family. You can run or walk, however you would like!

  • Can I run with my dog?

    We love dogs, but the Foam Glow™ is canine free. Sorry

  • Is there a charge for parking?

    Yes, there is typically a charge for parking so please carpool to the event with your friends, family, or team!

  • When and where can I get my packet?

    Packet pickup is typically held the day before the event. Specifics of each run’s packet pickup location and time can be found on the event’s page about two weeks before the event.

  • Can a friend pickup my packet?

    Yes, we do allow people to pick up packets for other people (team member, family, friends). As long as the waiver has been signed online (generally done during registration) they will just need to present the confirmation email. That way, we know they have permission to get their friends’ stuff!

  • Where can I pick up my merchandise?

    All purchases outside of your race packet can be picked up quickly and easily at Packet Pickup or the Merchandise Tent on race day. Please provide our awesome merchandising team with your name, confirmation email, and they will get your pre-ordered items to you right away!

    All items that have been pre-ordered MUST be picked up by start time on race day or at packet pickup. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to mail items to you after race day any items that have not been claimed will be forfeited and donated.

  • Do I have to wear the shirt provided?

    No, you do not! You can wear whatever shirt you like to the event. Just know that it might covered in foam by the end of the run!

  • Do you donate to a charity or cause?

    YES, we do. Our vision for Foam Glow 5k™ event is bringing fundraising to local communities, fun and memories. We select a different local organization for each city. To see the charity we use for each city, check out the location’s page. Foam Glow 5k has a passion for Children’s Cancer Research.

Zones and After Party

  • Are cameras and phones safe to have in the Foam Zones?

    Our race photographers are totally fine shooting from a medium distance (25-50 feet). If you want to get shots right in the midst of the “Glow” we recommend covering cameras/phones with plastic wrap.

  • Does the foam stain?

    Not typically, however, it is a good idea to take some extra precautions just in case. Don’t wear your favorite white sneakers and if you are worried about your hair, we suggest a cool bandana or a hat.

  • How does the color affect the inside of cars?

    Most people bring some towels for the insides of their cars, just in case. It’s like driving home from the swimming pool in your wet swimsuit :)

  • Do you have cleaning stations at the finish after party?

    With a good wipe off, you aren’t 100% clean, but you are totally good for the drive home. It is actually pretty fun to see people still colored up around town after Foam Glow™ event.

  • Do the Foam Zones affect runner vision or breathing?

    Foam Glow™ Zones are basically food grade foam bubbles and are 100% natural and SAFE. As with any substance, you want to keep it out of your eyes . Some runners opt to wear glasses or goggles for their eyes and use a bandanna or dust mask for their mouths. In summary: We work pretty hard to make it so our precious runners get as much or as little Foam Glow on them as they like.

  • Are spectators allowed at the after party?

    Absolutely! You may want to warn them though… they are not coming out of Foam Glow 5k™ after party clean!

Registration Questions

  • Can I transfer my entry to another person?

    Please find Instructions below on how to transfer your registration to someone else.

    1. Sign in to your Active account or click MYEVENTS in your confirmation email.
    2. Select an event from the list displayed on your MYEVENTS page.
    3. Click the “Transfer Registration” button.
    4. Enter the email address for the “New Participant”. You will be responsible for paying the transfer fee. The “New Participant” will be responsible for paying any new registration fee that applies. Once the new participant claims the registration, your old registration will be canceled and your entry fee will be refunded.
    5. The new participant will receive a confirmation registration email from Active.
    6. In the confirmation email, “Click Claim” registration.
    7. Fill out the registration form with the new participant’s information.
    8. Read and check the waivers/agreements carefully, then sign the waiver and click Continue
    9. On the Checkout page, enter your credit card information and select continue to pay the new fee.
    10. You will then receive a new confirmation email and receipt.

     

  • Can I transfer my entry to a different location?

    Please find instructions below to transfer your registration to a different location/event.

    *You may only transfer to an event or wave that is not SOLD out!

    1. Sign in to your Active account or click MYEVENTS in your confirmation email.
    2. Select an event from the list displayed on your MYEVENTS page.
    3. Click the “Change Event” button.
    4. Select your NEW Event/Location and hit continue.
      1. *You can only transfer to available waves. Some participant limits per wave are still in place. These are available on a first come basis.
    5. Scroll down the page and select your desired WAVE time if applicable.
    6. Click Continue
    7. On the next page, make sure to complete participant’s information then accept the waiver and agreements, type your name in the electronic signature box.
    8. Hit Continue.
    9. Review and Enter your credit card information for the processing fee.
    10. Hit Complete, then you will receive a new confirmation email.
  • How can I view my registration information, team, start time, or purchase additional goodies?

    You can do all the above directly from your user account by first following the two simple steps below:

    1. Go to your confirmation email & click “My Events” near the bottom
    2. Log-in to Active.com, and find your event

    From there, you will see the options to:

    • View and Edit Registration
    • Purchase additional merchandise
    • Transfer to another event
    • Manage family and friends packet pickup
    • Create/join a team or manage your team

    There may be additional options available depending upon selections made during the registration process such as inviting pre-paid team members or signing your waiver.

     

Glowers Under 18

  • Is there an age requirement?

    All ages are welcome!! This is a great family event with lots of fun, foam, music and memories.

    If they can run or walk the 3 miles of the course, they can absolutely participate! You may also bring a stroller for the little ones Children 5 and under can run with an adult FREE of charge and do not need to register.

    As soon as they turn 6 years of age, they will need to register and have a race bib! If the race recipient is under the age of 18 a parent guardian must sign a waiver on their behalf and be chaperoned with an adult over the age of 18.

  • How do I register someone under 18?

    Below are steps to register someone else below 18 (i.e. a minor) for an event on Active.com:

     

      • Access event registration page from Active.com or event’s website
      • On Select Category page, select desired category
      • Click Continue
      • Note: you will be asked to input email address if you don’t have an Active.com account or are not logged in.
      • At Select participant section on Complete Form page, select Someone else, below 18
      • Verify or complete your information as guardian, and confirm your identity by checking Relationship box
      • Complete the minor participant’s information and other fields below

     

  • Do kids under the age of 6 need to be registered if they are free?

    They do not need to be registered for the event! Our Little Glowers, 5 and under, can run with an adult FREE of charge and DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER! Please keep in mind that since your child is not a paid registrant, they will not receive a race packet.

  • What about jogging strollers and wagons?

    Yes, as long as you are here to have a ton of fun and be the best parent in the world. Children 5 and under can run with an adult FREE of charge and DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER!

    Just no bicycles, scooters, or anything like that. The foam is completely safe for the little guys too! Please note that the colored foam may stain the material on the stroller. Also, DO NOT stop or let go of the handle of the wagon or stroller while in the foam. Stopping or sitting in the foam can create a dangerous situation to your little peeps and anyone else that may not see them in the foam.

Policies

  • What is your weather policy?

    Our participants’ safety is the most important thing and if any of the threatening weather conditions listed below are present the day of the event, the event may be delayed or canceled.

    Threatening Weather Conditions

    Foam Glow 5k will be canceled or delayed if any of the following weather conditions exist: Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch, Thunderstorm/Electrical Storm, “Heavy” Rain, other major weather condition.


    Start of the Race / Cancellation of the Event

    The start of the event will be delayed if any of the above mentioned conditions exist. The event will then be canceled if any of the weather conditions persist: Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch or Thunderstorm/Electrical Storm.


    Authority to Cancel the Event

    The Race Director, in accordance with the city and the local law enforcement, has the authority to cancel the event. If threatening weather conditions force cancellation of the event, no refunds can be provided, since funds were already spent in preparation for race day.

  • What is your refund policy?

    Unfortunately, we DO NOT issue refunds.

    The logistics of setting up and planning the event make it impossible. Location and date are subject to change. We will make every effort to maintain the original date and location, however some locations may cancel or city regulations make a date or location impossible to use. Just make sure you are good to go before signing up. If for some reason you can’t make it to race day, at least come to the check in, pick up your Foam Glow™ gear, and say hi to us!
